These dogs may have come from tough beginnings, but their hearts are full of hope and affection. Take a moment to read their story, share their journey, and help light the way to a brighter future—because sometimes, all it takes is one person to change a dog’s world. Will that person be you? 🐾

Olive

Where they are located: Animal Protective Association of MO

rough age: 4 yrs

interests: Fetch, hiking, playgroups, long walks, cuddles

dog friendly: Yes, better with proper introductions

cat friendly: Unknown

good with kids: Yes, but due to size and energy level might be better suited for older children

good with strangers: Yes

other bits of information that help people get to know the dog: Olive is a 4-year-old energetic girl with a zest for life and a heart full of love. She’s currently in our shelter training program and picking up great skills—but she’ll thrive in a home that can keep her mind and body active.

Olive has done well with other dogs and enjoys playtime, though she can be a bit of a rough-and-tumble player. She’s looking for an active family ready to continue her training, give her the structure she craves, and let her shine as the fun, adventurous companion she was meant to be.

If you're up for a little energy and a whole lot of love, Olive could be the perfect fit.

Oak

Where they are located: Animal Protective Association of MO

rough age: 1.5yrs

interests: fetch, playing, meeting every dog friend possible

dog friendly: yes!

cat friendly: Unknown

good with kids: yes, but his size and energy can be a lot for younger kids

good with strangers: yes

other bits of information that help people get to know the dog: Oak is a roughly 1.5-year-old goofball with a heart as big as his paws. He’s smart and eager to please, but still very much a big kid learning the ropes. He’s currently enrolled in our in-shelter training program to help him master potty and crate training—and he's already making great progress!

Oak lives for fetch, thrives on attention from people, and plays hard with his doggy friends (maybe a little too enthusiastically). He’s got a lovable mug that only a mother could love—but we think you'll fall for him too. Oak is looking for a home that can keep up with his playful energy and help him continue to grow into the amazing companion we know he can be.
